HZG’s Institute of Polymer Research focus is research and development in the field of polymeric membranes. The activities encompass the entire pathway from polymer synthesis to pilot scale application in an industrial environment. The experimental and practical investigations are mirrored by modelling and simulation activities. An important point is the transfer of the production of flat sheet, thin film composite for gas separation from laboratory to square meter scale. HZG will bring this experience into INNOMEM participating in all work packages with a focus on pilot line 5 as the owner and as a participant of showcase 2 and the demo cases supposed to be generated from that. The pilot infrastructure for the production multilayer, thin film composite membranes in a flat sheet geometry will be improved. The resulting membranes will be employed primarily for natural gas conditioning application within the show and demo cases.
